I have been a cabinetmaker, furniture maker and wood turner for over 45 years. I spent the first half of my career in Thunder Bay and the remainder in Walters Falls. As a stay-at-home dad, having my shop a few metres from my front door allowed me to continue my work.
In my early sixties I injured my back to the extent that I could no longer work as I had, and so was forced into early retirement.
The 20th year of “The Show” started me thinking about how I could possibly take part again. I decided to try carving practical items. The results were pleasing to me creatively and so I entered for this exciting 20th year celebration.
